Dear Tina, Helen, Katie, Shih-ying, Kaya and Vivi
You've agreed to do a micro-teaching session next week for TESOL for Young Learners.
Each activity should be about 10 minutes, giving us about 20 minutes for discussion and feedback.
We should therefore be able to have two activities in an hour.
If you would prefer to have one longer activity, then just let me know.
Your activity can be something that you've done before, or something completely new.
In some ways, it would be good fun to try out something different?
You should bring the materials etc to make the activity run as you would in the classroom.
I would also suggest that you make it clear what kind of age/proficiency level you are thinking or for the activity.
You can choose if you want us to be "pretend" participants, and you tell us what age we should be, or you can give us a lesson as we are and use the discussion to explain how you would adapt it for young learners.
For the assignment for this course, you should have lesson plans, and you could include this activity as part of one of the lessons, if you want.
It could therefore be really useful for the assignment, as well as trying out some ideas for your teaching.
Remember to let us know what specific feedback you would like, and we can add that to the feedback notes.
You can use resources from books, textbooks, websites - anything you want, really!
Just remember to keep a note of where you found the original idea.
If you're not sure about what you're doing, or have questions, get in touch.
Yours
Ruby
